League Champion: JoAnn Lim
The 2014 Lord Halas Champ is none other than JoAnn. She receives the title that was only previously bestowed upon her dog. Most notably, she has been a key part of the League Council and a member in the league since its inaugural season in 2011. In fact, she has been the most consistent team in the league with 6-7 and 7-6 records throughout the league’s storied four-year history. It was only a matter of time before she put the pieces together and achieved fantasy football immortality. We know you will enjoy the bitter bliss of being the first team to imbibe Old Style from Da Bears Stein Trophy. This is your moment.
The results of the season-long Trophy Points competition are also ready to be announced. In an extremely tight race, Ali and JoAnn have tied. Since this is a ‘side pot’ competition that complements the standard season format, there is no tie-breaker. As a result, these two overachievers will split the $50 earnings.
In the footnotes section of today’s annual wrap-up column, Steve achieved Toilet Bowl success with a one-point squeaker over Jason. This gives Steve the opportunity to choose any draft slot in the 2015 Draft and Jason gets the second choice in next year’s draft.

This is also an opportunity to point out the honorable mentions from this hugely successful season. First off, thank you to everyone who gave their best Chicago try and started lineups every week. Most of us got a big lump of coal this Christmas week, but we played the game the right way. Also, congrats to everyone for adjusting to the new Facebook thread for trash-talking. It was quite a bit less hostile overall, but it is clear there were two winners in the trash-talking category this year: Krista and Steve.
Ethan became the first league member to make it to two championship games. A quick Lord Halas recap: Dan beat Drew in 2011, Alex beat Phil in 2012, and Ethan beat Bobby in 2013. The only returning teams who have yet to make it to the Lord Halas version of the Super Bowl are Chris, Jason, Kyle, and Steve. Their time will come.
Huge thanks to the new members this year: Ali, Krista, and Miguel. All of you put in solid .500 efforts despite some late-season bad breaks. If Steve and Jason are any indication, you can make it to the Toilet Bowl in your second season. So you have that to look forward to.
